As a (Senior) Payroll Specialist, you will serve as the central interface between HR and Finance. Working alongside our external service provider, you will ensure that around 350 payroll runs across our 6 entities operate smoothly each month. You bring several years of sound payroll experience, have a process-oriented mindset, and thrive as the go-to person for diverse inquiries across varying levels of knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end responsibility for monthly payroll accounting across multiple entities
- Expert advisory on topics such as flat-rate wage tax, employee benefits, and company car taxation
- Key point of contact for leaders, employees, and Finance colleagues regarding payroll matters
- Further development and optimization of our payroll processes
- Participation in cross-functional projects at the HR/Finance interface
Qualifications
- At least 6 years of professional experience in payroll accounting, ideally in a multi-entity or client-accounting environment
- Proven, extensive experience with standard payroll software (e.g., DATEV Lohn & Gehalt, SAP HCM, Sage, LOGA, Personio Payroll)
- Experience with Personio as an HRIS is a plus
- In-depth knowledge of flat-rate wage tax, benefits, and company car taxation
- Demonstrated experience collaborating across HR and Finance, effectively managing stakeholders across various organizational levels
- Experience in project management and process design/implementation
- Excellent German language skills
- Strong affinity for digital tools (we use Google Workspace and Slack) and an open mind toward AI applications—balanced with a critical eye for their outputs
